Project (2023-2024)

(D.R.O.P) Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic

The social concern over augmenting problem of plastic pollution across geographies of India, has motivated Kia India to address this challenge by initiating a social initiative of source segregating, collecting and recycling of plastic pollution as “Project D.R.O.P – Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic.” An Initiative by Kia India to combat plastic pollution that eventually ends-up in oceans and landfills, causing detrimental effects on life on land and marine. Source segregation, collection and recycling of plastic waste in support with local communities across 5 major cities is the core of this initiative. Since 2023 Kia India has collected 9457 ton of plastic waste.

Uphaar – Fruit Tree Plantation

The rising global warming and unpredictable climate change has led to loss of crop production and has put an undue burden on agrarian communities. To address climate change support this secluded yet imperative part of society, we launched Project Uphaar – Fruit tree plantation. Since 2023 Kia India has planted 404,000 trees planted so far covering 14 states while benefiting 572 farmers.

Material Recovery & Recycling Facility

As a supplementary action to Project D.R.O.P, Material Recovery and Recycling Facility has been initiated to foster the process of plastic recycling and reusing it further as a recycled material for goods & products.Kia India has launched its new waste segregation and sorting facility in Bhondsi Village and so for segregated about 120 ton of plastic waste. Simultaneously, also inaugurated its first recycling unit in Greater Noida and so far has recycled 1105 ton of plastic waste.

Skill Development & Job Creation

Skill Development & Job Creation is an education & livelihood initiative of Kia India. 800 Unemployed youth will be provided training in Data Entry Operator, Accounts Executive, Data Analytics and & Auto Service Technician Programs.

Certification will be provided by respective industry recognized agencies.

Placements support will be provided with good opportunities.

Eye Care On Wheels

To provide access to vision related medical services to the poor, needy and aged population in the villages of Penukonda & Kothacheruvu Mandals in Sri Satya Sai District. Services like vision screening, diagnostic services, supply of essential medicines, Cataract Surgery and post-surgery care will be provided at the doorstep of the community. In total, 3300 beneficiaries (1200 with spectacles, 1800 with essential medicines & 300 surgeries) will be benefitted from aforesaid services.

Buckle up – Promoting Road Safety

Every year a major proportion of individuals become the victim of road fatalities and many among those have to lose their loved ones. To address this issue and to embed a behavioral change Project Buckle Up has been initiated among school as an awareness and a behavioral change program for pupils between class 1st till 8th. So far Kia India educated approx. 16300 students about the significance of road safety and wearing seat belt among 52 schools of Delhi NCR so far.

Donation of Medical Equipment

Medical Equipment like HD-IVUS, Rota Pro, FFR Link along with required essentials to support the advance treatment of cardiac related diseases, donated to Govt Super Specialty Hospital, Anantapur. The upgraded cardiac dept of the hospital can offer the wide range of cardiac treatments including critical care.

   

3 Model Kindergarten Schools (Play Schools)

3 Model Kindergarten Schools (Play Schools) in the villages of Munimadugu, Duddebanda & Bojjireddypalli to provide better & safe facilities for kids, pregnant & lactating mothers.

Dining Hall at ZP High School, Gutturu, a clean & safe place for students to have meals.

Solar Street Lights

Solar Street Lights aims to provide safety during night times, reduce carbon footprints, around 250 solar streetlights were installed in 7 villages around Penukonda Town.

Elevated water tank

Elevated water tank at Ammavarupalli aims to provide continuous clean & safe drinking water supply for 3000 villagers.

 Road Safety Initiative

Road Safety Initiative is planned to place safety instructed signages on the sides of NH 44 at Erramanchi and Duddebanda Cross.

Road safety education is as essential as any other basic skill of survival. The project increases the awareness on safe driving and avoid road accidents.

Accident-free zone is the objective of the project.

he project alerts on safety precautions to road users on daily basis.

A skilling program aims to empower the women by taking up economic activity post completion of the training.

Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving Training Program

HMV Driving Training Program envisage the importance of technical aspects of handing the HMVs for safety transportation of good and passengers. The program executed in association with AP State Road Transportation Department to train 112 unemployed youth holding LMV license.

Beneficiaries : Unemployed Youth from Anantapur & Sri Satya Sai Districts.

7 Batches (16/ Batch) 42 Days training per batch, 74 candidates livelihoods secured and enhanced their career opportunities.

Support to Cath Lab,

Kia donated medical essentials to Cath Lab, Cardiology Dept, Super Specialty Hospital, Anantapur. This donation supported in operationalization of Cath Lab. These medical essentials will be used to diagnose and treat various cardiac diseases through Angiogram, Angioplasty and other complex procedures. More than 2000 cardiac patients would be benefited by this initiative. As the treatment for cardiac diseases is costly, this initiative will benefit the people who can not afford for the treatment.

Support to Govt ITI Dhone

Support to Govt ITI Dhone is an educational initiative executed by Kia in association with Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The project envisages upgradation of practical labs in Govt. ITI, Dhone. A total of 137 varieties of tools, instruments, machines and equipment (2398 Nos) were provided to upgrade the labs of Automobile, Mechanical, Welding, Civil and Electronics trades. The institute is equipped with modern teaching and practical materials. 500 students per annum will be benefitted from this initiative.

Kia Library Block

An educational initiative of Kia India to enable the students to access the library services. The newly constructed library is equipped with all necessary infrastructure includes the computers to access the online learning resources.

Location: Govt Degree College Penukonda Town Andhra Pradesh.

Beneficiaries: 750 Students per year.

Auto Service Technician (AST) Training Program,

AST Training Program to help the unemployed youth to get training in the automobile mechanics (Diagnose & Repair the vehicles) and jobs in the relevant field. 100 Candidates have trained in four batches, certified from Auto Sector Skill Development Council (ASSDC). Each batch undergone the training for 3 months. Beneficiaries are the unemployed youth from Anantapur and Sri Satya Sai Districts.
