BLACKPINK IS COMING TO AUSTRALIA

16 / 05 / 2019

Get ready Blinks! Kia global ambassadors, BLACKPINK are coming to Melbourne and Sydney this June, as part of their 2019 World Tour with Kia.

After making waves in the US with a historic Coachella appearance, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa will bring their fierce pop songs and powerful choreography to Europe and Australia.

Since releasing their debut single, ‘Boombayah’, in August 2016, K-pop superstars BLACKPINK have been nothing short of a phenomenon, smashing chart and streaming records while gaining success way beyond K-Pop’s traditional heartland.

Their new “Kill This Love” video set a record by racking up the biggest 24-hour debut in YouTube history, with 56.7 million views during the first day of its release on April 4. This isn’t Blackpink’s only appearance on YouTube’s list of the 10 biggest music video premieres. The group’s video for “Ddu-du Ddu-Du,” which premiered last June, nabbed 36.2 million views in 24 hours, making it the sixth biggest debut ever.

BLACKPINK will kick off the Australian leg of their world tour on 13 June in Melbourne, with a performance at the Rod Laver Arena. The group will also play at the Qudos Bank Arena, in Sydney on 15 June. Whilst both concerts are sold out, we are giving BLACKPINK fans the chance to win BLACKPINK tickets, with access to sound check before the concert and to send-off after the concert.

The partnership with BLACKPINK is the first in a series of collaborations Kia will announce with K-Pop superstars this year. Kia has also created a dedicated Instagram account (@kia_onbeat) and a new digital platform focusing on music, K-pop artists and special events.
