SUV stands for Sports Utility Vehicle. You may also have heard of CSUVs, which are Compact Sports Utility Vehicles.

SUV cars are set high off the ground with a raised suspension, providing a higher driving position. SUVs can also provide more passenger and boot space.

SUVs are not always 4x4. SUV refers to the body style, while 4x4 describes the drivetrain, which can also be called All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or Four-Wheel Drive (4WD). Many SUVs, like the Kia Sportage, are Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) as standard, with AWD also available on selected variants. Equally, some non-SUVs can be 4x4.

The Kia Sportage is a mid-size SUV available with Petrol, Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid powertrains, delivering bold design, advanced technology, and family-friendly practicality.

The Kia Sorento offers one of the largest boot spaces in the Kia SUV range. When the rearmost row of seats is folded down, the diesel model offers 616 litres, while this is reduced to 608 litres in the Hybrid, model and 604 litres in the Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV). Cargo capacity grows significantly when both rear row seats are folded flat, with the diesel model offering 2,011 litres of space. This drops to 1,996 litres in a standard Hybrid and 1,988 litres for the PHEV.
