Kia Reveals Enhanced Picanto in 2024
We’re excited to introduce you to the new Kia Picanto
, the third-generation model of one of our most-loved hatchbacks.
The Picanto has received a comprehensive upgrade, with enhanced performance, a striking new design and a whole suite of new onboard technologies. Now available to order, the 2024 Picanto lets you experience all the benefits of driving a small car
in a package that’s full of personality.
Let’s explore the exciting new features of the new, enhanced Kia Picanto.
Premium driving with an affordable price tag
After an impressive tech upgrade and all-around design and performance makeover, we’re proud to say that the new Picanto
is still one of the most affordable hatchbacks
on the market. At a starting price of just £15,595, the base model comes with an extensive set of equipment as standard, including an 8” touchscreen, cruise control and 14-inch alloy wheels, to name a few.
At Kia, we’re committed to making enjoyable driving as accessible as possible, and that’s what the new Picanto is all about.
“In a time when societies are struggling with rising prices and debates about urban space and quality of life are growing louder, the new Picanto allows customers to enjoy the freedom that movement brings,” says Sjoerd Knipping, Vice President of Product & Marketing of Kia Europe.
A bold new design to turn heads
As part of the overall revamp, we’ve given the Picanto
a new, ultra-modern design. Taking inspiration from our Opposites United design philosophy, the new Picanto shares a striking and futuristic aesthetic with its bigger siblings, the EV9
and the EV6
.
The redesign includes dramatic enhancements to the front profile. Alongside our signature tiger nose, the new model showcases an expanded radiator grille and high-gloss front bumper. The enhanced design also includes a new light signature, with an LED Lightbar that gives a confident, impactful look.
The back of the Picanto now sports a full-width light bar and a redesigned bumper. The new Picanto GT-Line and GT-Line S also showcase a rear diffuser shape, underlined with sporty and technical details.
The redesigned interior features lounge-style, artificial leather seats, in line with our sustainability
mission to phase out the use of real leather. The small car
retains the impressive boot capacity of 255 litres that, with the rear seats folded, extends to 1010 litres.
A comprehensive tech upgrade
As leaders in innovation, we’re committed to fitting all our cars with our most pioneering and industry-leading technology, and the Picanto is no different. The enhanced model has received a comprehensive tech upgrade, giving it a suite of advanced driving assistance technologies
and cutting-edge connectivity and convenience features.
Now featuring 8” touchscreen navigation and a 4.2” LCD digital cluster display, the infotainment system has been overhauled. You can enjoy step-by-step navigation with real-time traffic updates, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to keep you connected on the go. Our Kia Connect
services mean you can even receive local weather forecasts as well as both on and off-street parking information.
You also won’t have to worry about staying up-to-date with the newest in-car technologies. The new Picanto has Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, which enable wireless updates for all the onboard systems, so you can maintain up-to-date technology throughout your cabin.
The new Picanto also has a whole host of safety technologies fitted as standard, so you can enjoy absolute peace of mind. This includes a range of anti-collision assists, such as Safe Warning Exit and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, as well as other driving assistants like Driver Attention Warning-Plus and Lane Following Assist.
Effortless, fun driving
The Kia Picanto
is at home in the city and our new model is engineered to maximize the ease and pleasures of city driving.
The enhanced model has a longer wheelbase, which improves ride quality and, according to a recent Carwow review
, “makes it feel remarkably refined around town”. The additional Torque Vectoring by Braking (TVBB) function also offers crisper, more agile handling and better stability when cornering.
The new Picanto comes with a choice of two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre and a new 1.2-litre engine. While the 1.0-litre boasts a more impressive fuel economy, and the 1.2-litre is an ideal choice for those seeking more power, both options have been updated to maximize efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
