Kia's seven features that'll improve your journey
It's vital that your car is comfortable, relaxing and makes driving easier. So here are some of our favourite features that'll have you looking forward to getting behind the wheel.
We know that company car drivers are likely to spend far more time in their cars than the average road user, so it's important that your car is comfortable, relaxing and helps make your job easier. Kia pride themselves on their cars' generous equipment lists, that are packed full of features to make your journey more pleasant - here are seven of our favourites.
Heated Steering Wheel
Sometimes, it's the simple things in life that give us the most joy. A heated steering wheel may not sound like a big, headline feature, but it really is a gamechanger - especially if you're in and out of your car all day. On an icy January morning, it's a real treat to hop in the driver's seat and warm your frozen hands on the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. What's more, it's available on every model in the Kia range, depending on the grade.
Heated and Ventilated Seats
If you spend a lot of time in your car, it's very important that you feel comfortable, and finding the right temperature is a big part of that. Of course, many Kia's come with dual-zone climate control air conditioning, which is great, but heated and ventilated seats take things a step further. On a freezing winter morning a heated seat warms you up in no time, while in the summer the ventilated seats release cold air through the perforations in the leather - great for keeping you cool when you're wearing a full suit in the stifling heat.
Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go
Company car drivers tend to cover far more miles than the average driver, so this feature is all about making those miles more relaxing. Smart cruise control with stop and go can really take the stress out of driving. Set your desired speed, and the car will stick to it. If the car in front slows down, your car will too - in fact, it will maintain a safe distance to the car in front regardless of their speed. This is particularly helpful in traffic jams and slow-moving traffic. The car will creep along without needing an input from the pedals.
Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
Our lives are now very much connected to our phones. With Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, you can be closer to your phone's features while on the road - whether that's having access to your contacts, your favourite Spotify playlist, or even your preferred navigation app. The features are all shown on the car's display.
Smart Power Tailgate
The smart power tailgate is another simple feature that just makes life a bit easier. Whether you're lugging around your work bag, or your hands are laden with the weekly shop - simply stand by the tailgate with the smart key in your pocket, and after a few seconds the tailgate will automatically open. You can then close it with the touch of a button.
Wireless Mobile Charger
Mobile phones are an integral part of business. You don't want to miss that all important call because your phone is out of battery. Thankfully the wireless charger means you can simply drop your phone into the wireless charging tray without needing to fiddle around with messy cables. What's more, the car will warn you if you're about to leave without grabbing your phone. Handy.
Kia Connect
The new Kia connect system has its own SIM card, meaning it has constant access to live data - such as current traffic information, fuel prices and parking costs and availability. All very useful features when you spend a lot of time on the road. You can also connect to your car through the app and receive useful information, such as vehicle diagnostic data and even trip and mileage summaries - useful when submitting expenses or mileage reports.
