Kia EV Day Unveils New Electric Concept Cars
Kia Unveils 3 New Electric Concept Cars at First-Ever Kia EV Day
Kia has revealed three new electric cars
at the first annual Kia EV Day
Kia EV Day in Seoul, Korea on October 12. Our exciting electric car event saw the unveiling of the brand-new Kia EV5 and two new concept car models, the EV3 and the EV4.
Kia EV Day included a presentation of our EV strategy, including improved accessibility, variety and overall customer experience. The debut of the EV5 and the Kia EV3 and EV4 concept models also provided the perfect setting to discuss the role these compact electric cars
would play in realising this vision.
Accelerating our vision for an electric future
At Kia, our ambition has long been to lead the charge towards an electrified
future. During Kia EV Day, we shared how our vision of “EVs for All” will enable this goal. Our focus is to make electric cars
more accessible and address key concerns that prevent drivers from making the switch to electric.
“Kia is keenly focused on providing solutions to the concerns that continue to cause hesitation when it comes to making an EV purchase. We will meet customer expectations by offering a full line-up of EVs at various price points and improve charging infrastructure availability,” said Kia President and CEO, Ho Sung Song.
By expanding the EV model line-up with the EV5, EV4 and EV3, we will provide greater accessibility with a more varied price range. Growing our charging infrastructure is another crucial step towards giving customers greater peace of mind when driving a Kia electric car.
The Kia EV5, designed with family at its heart
One highlight of the Kia EV Day
was the official unveiling of the compact SUV,
the Kia EV5. It will join our award-winning EV range alongside the EV6
and EV9
in the future.
Bold yet sleek, this compact SUV
boasts a striking exterior that emulates the EV9, with matching details down to the bold tiger nose front and panoramic sunroof. Following the EV5 Concept design, the EV5 interior cabin has five completely collapsible seats for optimum practicality. It also has an intuitive, family-friendly design to create a borderless space.
The Kia EV5 electric battery range is expected to follow the long electric driving range of its predecessors, the EV6 and EV9. The battery uses a pioneering heat pump system to ensure consistent performance in hot and cold conditions.
“The Kia EV5 is not just the next addition to our rapidly expanding EV line-up, but also the embodiment of how we will accelerate the EV revolution. For us, it is the perfect representation of both our future EV strategy and our commitment to accelerating the worldwide transition to EVs,” said Spencer Cho, Head of Global Business Planning Sub-Division.
The Kia EV3 and EV4: Concept cars bound to inspire
The Kia EV day
electric car event also introduced two new concept cars, the Kia EV3 and the Kia EV4. These new models bring our dream of broadening the Kia EV line-up into reality. The Kia EV3 is a compact CUV, while the EV4 follows an innovative electric saloon car design.
Fusing practicality with pure driving pleasure, the Kia EV3 delivers the innovation, technology and pragmatic design of the EV9 in a more compact form. The Concept EV3 showcases a robust architecture and bold design. The interior cabin provides ample space, as well as elevated comfort and ambiance features that focus on emotional wellbeing, such as ergonomic seats and mood lighting.
The Concept EV4, meanwhile, has a striking electric saloon car design. The exterior flaunts a bold and athletic aesthetic, while the interior cabin integrates space and style. With twin digital screens, a slimmed-down instrument panel and ambient lighting, the EV4 ensures an enjoyable driving experience.
