    How Does it Work?

Updating your navigation system is simple – and you can do it yourself, at home. Simply visit the Kia Navigation Updates site. In the top right corner, select your preferred language. Then, you can download the navigation updater, choose your required Kia model and download the respective software to your vehicle's SD card. You can access the latest updates today using the link below.

How to Download System Updates

Follow our three simple steps to prepare to update your Kia built-in car navigation system.

1.

Find out your Kia's Model Year (MY). You will need this to select the correct navigation update for your vehicle. If you don't know your MY, check the FAQs at the bottom of the page.

2.

Depending on your model, you may need a USB or SD card with a capacity of up to 64GB. You may also be required to use a computer with at least 54GB of accessible hard drive space.

3.

To carry out the update, you must install the Kia Navigation Updater software onto your computer – so you need full admin access to the device you're using.

Newer Users Can Update with Over-the-Air Technology

Is your Kia Model Year 22 onwards? If so, you can receive all the latest navigation and software updates over the air with your vehicle's built-in mobile data connection. This means you can skip the Updates site and have updates delivered directly to you as soon as they're available. Eligible vehicles get two over-the-air updates free of charge. Check out the below steps to see if your Kia is over-the-air ready:

  • 1. Is your Kia Model Year 22 or newer?

Check your car's Model Year by looking at the 10th digit of its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Your Kia is eligible if this is N or a subsequent letter in the alphabet.

  • 2. Does your Kia have a recent software version?

If your software version is over six months old, you must update it via the Navigation Updates site. To find your software version date, go to 'Settings' from your Home screen, where you'll see it in YYYYMMDD format.

  • 3. All ready!

If your vehicle is MY22 onwards and your software is less than six months old, OTA updates will install automatically. You can expect two updates each year, and the first two will be free of charge.
