3G Cellular Network Switch Off
Dear Kia Connect Owners,
Some of the features we offer via Kia Connect currently require 3G cellular network support.
From the 28th of October 2024, our wireless network provider will be switching off their 3G network. This wil impact the emergency call SOS button and the automatic collision notification (ACN) in all Kia Connect vehicles.
To ensure these features continue to function after 27 October 2024, a software update will be required to enable your vehicle to connect to the 4G VoLTE cellular network.
All Kia EV9s, EV5s, Sorentos and Carnivals with Kia Connect will receive a unique Over-the-Air Update* as well as a notification through the Kia Connect app. To perform the update, please follow the instructions on your vehicle infotainment screen or alternatively refer to the Over-the-Air update manual, which can be found on our website here.
Kia Niro and Seltos with Kia Connect will require the latest Navigation Map software update released between July – October 2024. If you received the update notification in your vehicle infotainment screen and it was completed, you are not required to take any further steps. If you did not receive an update notification, or the update was not completed, you can visit our Official Kia Navigation Update Website to download and update the software yourself or contact your preferred Kia Dealership for assistance. To check if the update has already been completed, on your vehicle infotainment screen, please go to [Settings>General>Version info/Update]. If the software version ends in “240710” (July 2024) or later, it has been updated, and no further steps are required.
